{DIY} My Favorite DIY Furniture Makeovers!

**CAUTION!**
IDEAS ARE SO EASY & ADDICTING!!!

STOP! Don't sell that old bookcase and don't you dare buy that new headboard that you don't even LOVE!! I will give you some of my most favorite DIY Furniture makeovers to change your mind before you part with your old furniture loves!

{1} The $30 Headboard

4 1x6 boards
1 Can of Stein
Sanding Block
*Hang with large 3M strips*

Easy, Amazing, Fabulous? Yes!

{2} The $60 Ottoman, Ta-Dah!

Make your OWN ottoman.. say what!?
EASY EASY EASY!
Grab an old palates (Sometimes FREE)
(OR YOU COULD USE OLD COFFEE TABLE)
Lay 2" Foam over the top
(Use spray adhesive to attach)
Wrap whole top in batting
Find some fabric that you LOVE (sale racks, anyone?)
Wrap the palate/coffee table in fabric
If you want to tuft the ottoman I suggest drilling holes in the palate or table and threading buttons through. (EASY)
Pull the fabric tight and simply staple it to the underside

Use "hospital bed folds" to fold in corners (hardest part)
Ta-Dah!
$60 well spent! And it wouldn't even be that much if you already had your coffee table or got the palate for FREE!

A normal ottoman goes for $1200 or more!
Worth the $60?

{3} Fall BACK in LOVE with that Bookshelf!!

Easiest project YET!
Old Bookshelf
Sanding Block
Paint
Wallpaper pieces (OR SCRAPBOOK PAPER)
Bun Feet from any Home Improvement Store!

Sand Down Old Paint
Repaint in the color of choice!
Wallpaper: Add Wallpaper to back
-OR-
Modgepog scrapbook paper to back

Add the feet to the bottoms (glue, drill, etc.. what will be easiest for you?)

Ta-Dah!

Want to get really fun?
Bookshelf to Mini Bar!

{4} Pretty Pretty Pegboard!

This is a harder project, but definitely worth it in the end!
Tufted headboard done with pegboard!

First obtain your pegboard, make sure you have it cut down to the size you will need for your bed.
Next you will need to buy spray adhesive and 3" foam
(This is important! You don't want this to look cheap!)

First things first!
Decide where your tufts will go! Circle these with chalk so it is easy to wipe off and change around until it is perfect!
Next you will want to lay the pegboard over the foam and mark out the foam in marker or something similar.

TIP: want extra deep tufts? Cut out the holes in the foam!

Next you will want to use spray adhesive to stick everything together.
Lay your fabric over the foam, start to string your thread through the bottom of the pegboard up through the foam and through the button of choice (make your own or buy new!) Then string back down and out. Do this starting in the middle and working outwards horizontally*

When you're finished- Work all of the bumps and bubbles out of the fabric before you staple down the backside!
